Home theaters have many functions today. They can be dedicated movie cinemas, game rooms, or entertainment rooms. Home theaters are most commonly described as an audio/video entertainment center that have a large-screen TV and hi-fi surround audio system with three speakers in the front (left, right and center), left and right speakers in the rear, and a left and right speaker to side rear. This is commonly referred to a 7.1 surround sound system. Starting in the early 1990s, video inputs were added to stereo receivers and preamplifiers. Today, almost all audio vendors make combination audio/video equipment for home theater listening and viewing.

Many not only want to have a dedicated theater room, but an acoustically correct listening space with audiophile-quality sound. For complete accuracy, BMS can furnish certified acousticians to determine the proper size of the room and what type of soundproofing needed. They also decide how and where to install the soundproofing.

Apartments and condominiums can present many challenges, particularly with space limitations and limited wiring opportunities. But for BMS, certified installation expertise can accomplish the most “impossible” situations and add extras like motion detectors, lighting controls, and remotes make your space enjoyable whether he’s working from your office or relaxing in the living room.

Many home entertainment projects are called retrofits, which are basically the remodeling of an existing room or structure. An installer needs to have the same skills that new construction projects require, but additionally combine both new construction and retrofit techniques, which intensifies the challenge.

Audio - Just As Critical…A good sound system is as important as the video system in a home theater design, if not more important. In many home systems, audio is the more elaborate and costly portion of the system. Setting up the room for realistic audio can be a lot more challenging and time consuming than setting up the video, but the results are worth it.
